Naughty

What can I say? I’m not a nice person. When I walk by, people call me a slut, and I’m okay with that. I believe in calling a spade a spade. I am a slut.
With the holidays approaching, I miss belonging to The Last Riders. Drake’s keeping me warm, but he wants more than I can give. He wants me to trust him, to believe he can protect me. Doesn’t he know Santa put me on the Naughty List long ago?
NiceWhat can I say? I’m a nice guy and have always done the responsible thing.
Bliss is everything I shouldn’t want, but it’s hard to resist a woman who stopped believing in miracles. She wants to be back with The Last Riders, whom she considers her true family. Doesn’t she know it’s Christmas, and miracles do happen?

“I was born in a small town in Kentucky. My family began poor, but worked their way to owning a restaurant. My mother was one of the best cooks I have ever known, and she instilled in all her children the value of hard work, and education.
Taking after my mother, I’ve always love to cook, and became pretty good if I do say so myself. I love to experiment and my unfortunate family has suffered through many. They now have learned to steer clear of those dishes. I absolutely love the holidays and my family puts up with my zany decorations.
For now, my days are spent writing, writing, and writing. I have two children who both graduated this year from college. My daughter does my book covers, and my son just tries not to blush when someone asks him about my books.
Currently I am writing five series of books- The Last Riders, The VIP Room, Predators MC, Biker Bitches, and The Dark Souls.
All my books are written for one purpose- the enjoyment others find in them, and the expectations of my fans that inspire me to give it my best.”

HOW TO LOSE A BACHELOR

Anna Banks

Releasing Nov 9th, 2015

When Rochelle Ransom auditioned for the dating show Luring Love, she had big plans for winning the prize money to help her favorite charity–and if she won the hot bachelor’s heart, even better. REVIEW

It’s my shameful, dirty not so secret that I love The Bachelor.

giphy

Where Big Brother and Survivor leave me cold, I have an unrelentingly lurid fascination with this absurd reality television dating show. Whereas I have never questioned the appeal of Anna Bank’s writing, teachergirl73 first introduced me to her work when she and Emmy Laybourne co-wrote an adorably off the wall paranormal romance featuring of all things a Sasquatch! Monster Crush was a Twitter Fiction Festival selection in 2012, you can read it here. Her sweet but never saccharine style of writing was the exact thing that my admittedly fussy reading palate desired.

For those of us who can’t wait until January for Ben. H’s season of The Bachelor to begin How to Lose a Bachelor is a perfect distraction. Rochelle is not looking for love, she is only interested in winning to help her local women’s shelter. Imagine her horror when the only man she ever loved turns out to be the bachelor whose attentions she is vying for? The unsavory producer pounces on the potential dramafest = ratings and makes her an offer she can’t refuse to stay and then manipulating Grant just as expertly.

How to Lose a Bachelor is a departure from her YA material but will still appeal to her mermaid loving fans.

NYT Bestselling YA author of The Syrena Legacy series: OF POSEIDON (2012) OF TRITON (2013) OF NEPTUNE (2014). Repped by rockstar Lucy Carson of the Friedrich Agency. I live with my husband and daughter in the Florida Panhandle. I have a southern accent compared to New Yorkers, and I enjoy food cooked with real fat. I can’t walk in high heels, but I’m very good at holding still in them. If you put chocolate in front of me, you must not have wanted it in the first place.

“Aaaand rolling!” Chris said, retaking the director’s seat a few feet away.

Grant could practically feel the cameras focusing back on him. “I’ve decided to be America’s reporter for the day,” he said, having already memorized his lines. “So I have a few questions to ask that I think everyone will want to know—including me.” Their eyes locked. So did Rochelle’s jaw. Grant paused for effect. Then, “Why on earth would you choose to audition for a sleezy show like Luring Love?”

“CUT!” yelled Chris.

“I mean, have you really drained the dating pool already?” Grant continued, getting angrier with each word out of his mouth. These were, after all, valid questions. Never in a million years would Rochelle have chased after a man—so why the hell was she here? “What would your mother say? Coming on a show like this to paw at a man who’s already got nine other women doing the same thing?”

“I said cut!” Chris growled.

“Oh, are we going to talk about mothers, then?” Rochelle flung back her hair. “Instead of dating pools, let’s talk about gene pools—and the fact that you and your four siblings originated from separate ones!”

“Cut, cut, cut!” Chris had his hand on Grant’s shoulder, but Grant wouldn’t turn his eyes away from Rochelle. Her expression read Challenge Accepted.

Did she really just insult his mother’s…need for variety in life? He couldn’t let that low blow go unpunished. “Let’s do talk about gene pools and how we both know that cleavage of that particular magnitude doesn’t run in your family.”

Taken aback, Rochelle clutched at her shirt. Grant felt a win on the horizon, if hurling mother insults could, in fact, be considered winning at anything. “It’s a halter top, moron. It’s designed for cleavage. Besides, you didn’t seem to be complaining when I walked in!” she added.

His mouth fell slightly ajar. She noticed me noticing. Did the crew? Will America? “It doesn’t suit you,” he blurted.  A complete lie. It enhanced an already irresistible figure—so much so that he just might have been willing to change his general opinion on how much cleavage a woman should expose in public.  In fact, he suspected he’d change his view on world peace if Rochelle sat on his lap and asked him to.

“Really? Everything underneath suited the hell out of you before!”

“For God’s sake,” Chris said, standing in front of Grant to block his view of Rochelle. “Are we speaking the same language?”

Releasing Nov 24th, 2015

Diversion

In this twist on the Pygmalion story, a duke makes a wager that he can bed the uncouth Lady Gloriana. But the bet takes on a life of its own…

The year is 1725. Lady Gloriana Baniard is a beautiful fish out of water. Brought up on the mean streets of London, she is a brash, blunt, obscene force of nature. But thanks to a brief marriage to a disgraced aristocrat, she is forced to live with his noble family and endure the humiliating process of learning to be a lady. Rebelling, she runs away to Yorkshire, where she intends to be a blacksmith, a skill at which she excels. She knows she’ll need a manservant to front for her. When John Thorne appears, she hires him, stirred as much by his irresistible attraction as by his strength.

John Haviland, Duke of Thorneleigh, is an arrogant, indolent gambler and womanizer. Having seen Gloriana just once, he yearns to make her his own. When he learns she has run away from her family, he makes a wild bet with his wastrel companions―he will find the lady and bed her. Disguised as a humble servant, he becomes her assistant, learning the blacksmith trade. The clash of wills between these two proud people creates more sparks than a blacksmith’s anvil, as Gloriana learns to be a lady, Thorne learns humility―and desire deepens to love.

But Gabriella Martine has no intention of backing down. She’s used to handling stubborn men, and it doesn’t hurt that Zach is smart, charismatic…and gorgeous.

And a Heart for Adventure

Zach’s perfect world is turned upside down when a climbing accident leaves him broken, angry, and maddeningly dependent. Reaching across the table, Zach took one of Gabriella’s hands in his and just marveled at how soft it was. He always wondered what her skin felt like and now that he knew, he wanted to feel more. “Don’t leave me. Please.”

Her blue eyes filled with tears and she used her free hand to quickly wipe them away before they fell and then studied their hands on the table. “Zach,” she said softly, “we’ve been over this.”

“I know, I know,” he replied just as softly. “I need another chance, Gabriella. I need a chance to make things right.” He looked up, his gaze meeting hers. “I need you.”

Deciding to be bold, he turned her hand over and twined their fingers together and gently squeezed. He was surprised she didn’t pull away and thought maybe—just maybe—they were making progress. “I know I can’t erase the things I’ve said and done, but if you’ll give me one more chance, Gabs, I promise not to screw up. If I do anything to upset you, you can walk away. Hell, you can slap me in the face, kick me in the shin or throw something heavy at me and I’ll take it. I just…I can’t do this without you.”

Her eyes never left their joined hands.

“I don’t want to do this without you,” he said quietly.

“I’m afraid to…believe you.” He barely heard her words, they were uttered so softly.

Everything inside of him clenched with pain. His always confident, ever-efficient assistant was now distrusting and uncertain—because of him. “I don’t know what to say to make you believe me. Tell me. Tell me what I need to do. Anything. Anything you need from me to gain your confidence, and I’ll do it.”

She looked up at him. “It’s not that easy. Every day I walked into the office, I gave you another chance. Every time you berated me or made me feel like I screwed up and I came back, I gave you another chance. From my standpoint, you’ve had two years’ worth of second chances. I think I’ve been more than generous.”

His other hand reached out to cup her hand in both of his. “I know you have and you have no idea how much I appreciated it.” She looked at him with disbelief. “It’s true! I know I never said it but every morning you were there, I was thankful. Every time you walked into my office, I was thankful. Please. I’m begging here, Gabs.”

New York Times and USA Today Bestseller/contemporary romance writer Samantha Chase released her debut novel, Jordan’s Return, in November 2011.

Although she waited until she was in her 40’s to publish for the first time, writing has been a lifelong passion. Her motivation to take that step was her students: teaching creative writing to elementary age students all the way up through high school and encouraging those students to follow their writing dreams gave Samantha the confidence to take that step as well.

When she’s not working on a new story, she spends her time reading contemporary romances, playing way too many games of Scrabble or Solitaire on Facebook and spending time with her husband of 25 years and their two sons in North Carolina.

EXCERPT

“Late night?” he asked.

He told himself he was way too interested in what she’d been doing, but that didn’t stop him from leaning forward to hear her response. She nodded, but surprisingly she didn’t elaborate. He narrowed his eyes. Was she purposely not telling him what she’d done last night?

“Doing?” he persisted.

The coffeemaker beeped, and Teagan pushed away from the counter without answering. She opened the cabinet, pulled out two mugs, and filled them with coffee.

Grabbing some half-and-half from the fridge, she splashed a generous amount in his mug, just as he liked it. She dumped a huge amount of sugar into her coffee, and he shuddered at the thought of how sweet it would be.

She placed his mug in front of him before picking up hers. She gazed at him over the rim of it as she blew on her coffee.

“So, you’re bored,” she stated flatly. “You’re desperate for company, and you want to do something touristy today.”

She took a small sip of her coffee, waiting for his reply.

“Right,” he answered, although he wasn’t being entirely truthful.

He wasn’t desperate for company. He knew other people in the city now. In fact, he knew more than a few in the biblical sense. And he definitely wasn’t bored. How could he be when he spent so much time with Teagan?

“What do you have in mind?” she asked, pushing her tangled hair away from her face.

“Brunch. JFK Library.”

She stared at him, an unreadable expression on her pretty face. When she didn’t respond, his stomach cramped a little at the thought that she might not want to go with him. The outing wouldn’t be any fun without her.

After a long moment, Teagan nodded and left him in the kitchen, presumably to get ready. As he raised his mug and took a drink, he realized two things: he didn’t like her coffee, and he didn’t want to spend his free time with anyone but her.

Sidekick Returns (Sidekick #2) – Auralee Wallace COMING SOON!

giphy

The Wait Is Almost OVER!

Just in time for Christmas reading our favourite wanna-be superhero RETURNS!

After sort of single handedly thwarting her father’s nefarious plans to take over the world Bremy St. James and her motley gang are back for more crime fighting hi-jinks.

Sidekick Returns

824d7-goodreads

Fresh off thwarting the crime of the century, Bremy St. James is back and more determined than ever to fight by the side of the city’s top superhero, Dark Ryder. There’s just one problem: Dark Ryder’s disappeared.

To make matters worse, Bremy’s evil billionaire father, Atticus, is taking her lack of family loyalty very personally, and Bremy’s last tie to her old life, her reason behind her choices—her sister—is distancing herself as well.

The second installment of the Sidekick series raises the stakes even higher. After Atticus’ escape from the prison in the first book, things are quiet, too quiet. Bremy feels she is ready to take her place at Dark Ryder’s side only she is nowhere to be found and it isn’t long before ready or not Bremy is right back in the thick of things with her motley crew at her side.

It’s no secret that I love everything Auralee Wallace writes and unlike most writers she seems to get better and better with every word. If you haven’t read the first installment, one-click it immediately and hold on cause the circus is in town! For the rest of you it is only three short weeks until you can reacquaint yourselves with Bart, Queenie, Pierce and meet the Little Big Shot (think pint size Robin Thicke, shudder), the Angel of St. James, the Crime Mime and funeral director Kevin straight out of the Addams Family. It’s an unholy combination that works like something you could never imagine with equal parts hilarity and humanity that only Bremy can handle with her trademark naive obstinate perseverance that she can change the world with a bit of help from her friends.

Sidekick was much like a fun-house circus ride but in Sidekick Returns we discover a much darker side to super heroism that will ultimately pit Bremy against a foe she never imagined… her own twin sister.

If you appreciate unique, adrenaline filled, subtly witty and occasionally farcical stories then the Sidekick series is for you. Think Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer with a soupcon of Star Wars thrown in for good measure. Take my advice, read them. You won’t regret it.
